“1) everything that’s already in the world when you’re born is just normal;
2) anything that gets invented between then and before you turn thirty is incredibly exciting and creative and with any luck you can make a career out of it;...

Hello Citizen: Headline headghgh
Thursday afternoon; I returned from work to see the Times and Citizen on my door mat, I took a picture of it on my phone and uploaded to Twitter. Sunday evening; that picture will have been seen by a recorded 57,000 people, reused on The Huffington Post, The Guardian and Photoshop Disasters, blogged and tweeted all over the world and available on a T-Shirt.
But how did this happen, how...

We’re in the information business
Why would we want structure? According to Adrian Holovaty, newspapers should be in the information business, and think further than the written word. Structured information is what will fuel innovation in journalism. I couldn’t agree more.

This fracturing of the Android OS as well as the problems caused by differing hardware form factors (keyboard or no keyboard; 5 hard button or 6?) only add to the woes of consumers and developers.

Official Gmail Blog: New in Labs: Nested Labels...
Labels are more flexible than folders because a given email can have several labels but can’t be in several folders at the same time. A highly requested feature for labels, though, comes from the world of folders: the ability to organize labels hierarchically. If you think this might be useful to you, go to the Gmail Labs tab under Settings, look for “Nested Labels,” enable it...

London councils issue themselves parking tickets,...
In 2007, Islington Council issued a parking ticket to one of its own vehicles. The department receiving the ticket disputed the validity of the Penalty Charge Notice and appealed against the fine. The council declined the appeal so the department took the case to the Parking Adjudicator. At this stage, the council submitted no evidence so the ticket was cancelled. The department that appealed...
